Dalyan Classic (Mud Bath, Beach & Lake)
Trip Information
The Day itself begins at 10.00am when you board Mesut’s boat at the jetty to be welcomed with a drink of tea, coffee or fruit juice. Off we go heading slowly towards the sea sailing past the King Tombs along the Dalyan River as it meanders through the reed beds where there is the chance to see interesting birdlife. There are views of Kaunos which was once a port long ago before the Delta was created.
The first stop of the day is Lake Alagol, known for its natural hot springs. The water is especially warm and a great place for a swim. It is the Lake where the caretta caretta gather to breed early in the summer and the next highlight is Iztuzu Beach where the turtles actually lay their eggs. There is a good chance of seeing the loggerhead in the waters around here.
Going through the narrow channel to the sea, your next opportunity to swim is near Diamond Island, just offshore while lunch is being prepared. A BBQ with meatballs, chicken or fish accompanied by Mama’s delicious Turkish mezes awaits with a selection of drinks available.
After lunch, it is back through the Delta, past Dalyan and out onto Koycegiz Lake. On the left shore of the Lake is Sultaniye Spa and Mud Baths where we stop for you to enjoy their health giving properties including relieving aches and pains as well as rejuvenating your skin.
A perfect day ends around 6.00pm after the short journey back to the jetty; a lovely day out which you are certain to remember. It is a cruise that you may want to do time again in visits to Dalyan.
